JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Minister of Communication and Informatics, Johnny G Plate, has been implicated as a suspect in an ongoing corruption investigation led by the Attorney General's Office (AGO).
The corruption case revolves around the allocation of funds for the provision of 4G Base Transceiver Station (BTS) infrastructure and Supporting Infrastructure Packages 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 under the Ministry of Communication and Informatics' Accessibility Telecommunications (BAKTI) program for the years 2020-2022.

Ketut Sumedana, the Head of the AGO's Legal Information Center, confirmed the development during a press conference held at the AGO headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. "One person has been named a suspect, and immediate detention measures have been taken," stated Sumedana.
The decision to name Minister Johnny G Plate as a suspect came after a thorough investigation conducted by the AGO. The politician from the Nasdem Ink Party underwent three rounds of questioning, with the examinations taking place on February 14 and March 15, 2023, as reported by Merahputih.com.
