JAKARTADAILY.ID – A total of 20 Indonesian International Student Mobility Award (IISMA) awardees participated in the Pre-Departure Briefing (PDB) on Thursday, August 2, 2022. The briefing was carried out in collaboration with IISMA with the University of Jember and the Indonesian Embassy in Prague, Czech Republic. This is the 9th IISMA GDP implemented for the European region.

The awardees from 16 universities in Indonesia will study for one semester at Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic. Later they will be the second batch of IISMA at the university after IISMA sent students to the same university in 2021. The IISMA briefing aims to provide information and guidance to awardees to become good citizens in the recipient country.

As the host of IISMA PDB this time, the Chancellor of the University of Jember, Iwan Taruna conveyed a message to the participants that this PDB activity is critical to start the IISMA program so that students have the provisions for living life in a new place. Thus, it is hoped that students will more easily adjust to the culture wherever they are to support the smooth running of the IISMA program.

"In addition, regarding the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the provisions in the Czech Republic have been very relaxed. People are no longer wearing masks. The situation here is similar to before Covid-19, although there are still positive patients. Self-report can be done online after arriving at the airport. For communication, it can be through a representative of one of the IISMA awardees, so we can help if there is one thing or another," explained Kenssy accompanied by Muhamad Tiefryan Fahlensyah as First Secretary of the Indonesian Embassy in Prague according to a press release published on kemdikbud.go.id, Saturday, September 3, 2022.

At the end of his speech, Kenssy invited all awardees to organize an "Indonesia Night" event on campus at the end of the semester in order to promote Indonesian culture.
